Nova Genesis - New Beginnings - seems an appropriate term when describing how "Dovetail Builders" will make you feel about the house you call home.

I lived in Maine for fourteen years,  during that time my Novanglian (Oxford English Dictionary for you curious sorts - means Native New Englander) spirit thrived as I endeavored to maintain my home while employed as a Marine Designer at Bath Iron Works http://www.gdbiw.com/ in Bath, Maine.  The name " Dovetail Builders" carries the connotation of hardy, capable, and top quality don't you think?

My apprentice as a Home Improvement Contractor really started when as a young boy I would shadow my father while he accomplished his "Honey Do" list.  My Mom laughs when I credit Pop for my early training, but I think he was and is a great teacher.  She seems to think his idea of using an old fashioned milkcan as a handy mailbox planter was less than adequate (it was only supposed to be temporary - it lasted ten plus years).  It seems an idea which even today is very popular.  I insist that Pop was a trend setter!

I now live in Salem, Massachusetts, with my wife Carey and two Bouvier des Flandres, Flaps & Moxie.  I founded Peter's Of Maine in 2001 with the primary focus being "Home Improvement".  Once we decided on a name a few mottos we tossed around were "Everyone needs a Peter", and "If he won't do it, I will" but both could be a bit miss-leading.  Talk about double entendres. The company has grown thanks to our great customer base. As part of our growth I am licensed in Massachusetts as a Construction Supervisor, which permits me to build up to a two (2) family home. Our new company name "Dovetail Builders" has been launched, and we are very excited about the future..

At any rate, whether you want to freshen the walls with a new coat of paint, change the color scheme entirely, add a closet, install floor or wall tile, install new kitchen cabinets, replace or enlarge windows or doors, you name it, I can help.  I would provide a comprehensive list of things in my repertoire but think it may just be easier for you to contact me, in all likelihood I can either perform the task, or know of someone else who can.
